I’m not buying a horse, but I’m going to take lessons. I know I will need riding boots, breeches, and a helmet… but what else? I’m planning to take lessons once a week for who knows how long.
This varies from stable to stable. Please phone your local stable (the one where you’re going to take your lessons) and ask for a supplies list. If they have a website, it may even be posted there. You really need to get this info from that particular stable.

I’m going to start teaching horseback riding lessons and need to know what the best, but also the cheapest liability insurance, so I can teach at local arenas and barns.
Check with your insurance agent for your car and house. An independent agent can find policies and shop around for you.
I always got mine through one of the barns liability insurance as an add on, and paid the barn owner for the extra cost. It takes a very special person to do that of course, because if you have a claim, it would raise the whole farm’s costs…..
add–Doesn’t being a member of the national organization USEF have liability insurance as part of their benefits? They would certainly know what companies offer insurance. http://www.usef.org/
