I’m heading to college and i want to be involved with one of the two, but i don’t know which.
THe Equestrian Rider Amazon.com’;return true;” onmouseout=”self.status=””>equestrian team is free(all expenses paid for by the school) and its a great experience and you become a much better rider. however, you wouldn’t be able to train your own horse how you want.
The rodeo team is also a great opportunity because i’m mostly into barrels more than anything else. however, i would have to save up for a barrel horse because i don’t have one right now and you have to pay for everything yourself. also, i would be able to train the horse the way i want, and the horse will be with me for a long time, so it would be a good investment.
Wow that’s hard! I can see how you are in a dilema….
I personally would go with the Equestrian Team, because as you said, it would be the cheapest option and a great way to improve your riding! Plus, you wouldn’t have to spend a lot of money on a new horse, and you would be able to save up money for whatever else you need in the future. Will the Equestrain Team let you keep the horse?

I’d do the Equestrian Team. You would save money which you can spend on a prospect to train, and it looks good to the school. Also, you might find that classes can be scheduled around practices- With Rodeo, that may not be the case.
Of course, think realistically. I’m assuming this is your first year of college- Unless you are at a party school or are really slacking off, it’s unlikely you’ll be settled enough and have enough time the first year to train a horse, show, and work to pay for it all. At least the Equestrian team will take the expense part of it off your shoulders, and it should improve your riding ability because although usually the instructors are mediocre, you will ride a ton of different horses, which really helps a rider.

The Equestrian team will teach you better form and horsemanship, which you can later apply to improve your barrel racing, and at no cost.
